I can’t read on-line very well, so after a few paragraphs I would give up.

I’m one, like yourself, who enjoys the feel of a book; the comfortable, yet oh-so-awkward, position you end up slouched in; the turn of a page, just to forget the last sentence and having to re-read it . . .

I can’t think why I ever stopped reading.

This is the UK, I don’t think any business has self respect.

As far as used book stores go, I doubt we have one here. I can’t help thinking now I should just keep my money.

We’re only allowed to borrow the books for four weeks as well. We shall see if it’s worth it.

You could also get Aaron to send you a link where a site hosts an HTML copy of it. Unless you like the feeling of dead wood in your hands like I do. I bought a copy of it after I read it one time.

What sort of self-respecting library doesn’t have a copy of Nineteen Eighty-Four? Really? And what sort of self-respecting public library charges you money?

Next time, go to your local used bookstore. You can probably pick up a copy there for under £3, maybe even for less. Then you’d have it immediately and have it for life (or you could donate it to the library, which seems to be in need of a serious injection of book-purchasing funds).
