ZetaBoards Anniversary
Monday, November 24th 2008. Comments: 0 (View Entry)
For the past couple of days, and for the next couple of weeks, InvisionFree/ZetaBoards Support are celebrating their 6th and 1st year anniversaries respectively.
There have been several games created to mark the celebrations, and more will be created at a later date, for the community to take part in.
Once again, Guild War is back and once again I’ve set up a guild to participate. There is also the ever popular Deal With The Devil, which I have never took part in before, so should be great fun.
There is also a trivia contest, but I’m never any good at them so most likely won’t find the answers anywhere.
The next couple of weeks will likely be a relaxing, yet stressful time. It’s all fun!
Game: Governor of Poker

I came across this poker game on the web sometime early this morning. Governor of Poker. You play as, what I assume to be a Texan, in the state of Texas playing Texas Hold’em, in either tournaments or cash games for small cash prizes or houses.
The more cash you win means the more buildings you can purchase in each town. Owning all of the building means you own the town as well as a cash flow of a few dollars a week.
As I’ve never really played poker before this game is really good, and I mean really good. The graphics are brilliant; the concept is great; the action is never the same; the stress levels are increased ten-fold; and you get a great buzz when you win the table.
It’s not set out like an official tournament, you just play one game win or loose, then click next day for the next tournament to begin.
When you earn enough cash to purchase all of the buildings your given a chance to leave town after one last game to wager transportation. This starts out at a horse, then moves on to carriages and cars.
If you enjoy a game of poker, or just like playing games in your spare time at work, I say give this a go.
Give Google a search as there are many game sites available to play this on.
As a small tip: When in a game, the horse shoe across the bottom of the screen can slide to increase your bet or raise amount. This pushes one or two opponents into folding.
Wii Game Party

My sister’s had this game for a few weeks now, and it’s really enjoyable.
I decided to have a quick go of the basketball game, similar to what you may see at a fair, where you get three attempts to get the ball in the hoop to win a prize. The difference with the Wii version is you have un-limited balls and a time limit.
My first attempt at this netted me 7 points, which was poor. I was, in my defense, trying to do it correctly though. My second attempt netted me around 36 points, which was better but still warranted a third go.
This is where it got interesting! Having picked up a technique, I scored myself a whopping 75 points.
This prompted both of my sisters to get angry and begin trying to beat me. They had a few go’s each for a while, until I decided it was my turn again.
Can you guess what happened? Well I’ll tell you.
I not only broke my record of 75, I smashed it at 95 points.
I think I have been banned from playing that game again. I’m now sat in the top three slots on the leader board, at 95; 75; and 72 points. The lame 72 coming after the 95.
If anyone has scored more, or has a high score, post it up.
Game: Fun on Saints Row.

Having been playing Saints Row for some time now I’m having loads of fun with it. There are a few activities which are awkward to do, mainly the Snatch; Escort; and Hitman ones.
I’m almost finished with Hitman, just the last two never seem to show up. I need to find Don and Tina, both on separate activities.
The Snatch activities are coming to an end, with one still to start and another on level eight. The game is currently paused as I write this.
I have decided to complete all of the activities before completing all missions, as I most likely won’t go back on the game once finished, as with all the others I have. Although it is very good so I may rampage a few times.
I can’t wait for the second installment, where I hope a few, if not all of the bugs I noticed are squished.
I managed to have a helicopter after me yesterday, which I shot down with a rocket. This was while on a Mayhem activity, and is possibly bar far the most enjoyment you could get out of a game, since to me it sits on a whole different level to grand theft auto.
To which, leading me on nicely, I still haven’t bought. The shops are sold out, and I think Game are starting to sell it at £44.99 now.

Funny title I know but It’s late.
At around 4pm GMT time I headed in to my local game store and purchased myself a shiny new xbox 360.
Yes I know it’s old news and everyone has one, but I don’t care, I need to blog about something. Wasn’t too bad a buy, at £249.99 with free Assassins Creed (RRP £39.99 currently). I tried to have the choice of game changed for CoD4, but they wouldn’t go for it as the discount wouldn’t of worked, since I managed to buy the bundle a day after the offer ended.
I bought myself the premium console as you may have noticed from the price, so I now have a legible reason to stay in bed all day, playing games wirelessly.
The surprising thing is I haven’t actually switched the console on yet. It’s all plugged in and sat waiting, I just ended up watching CSI (new series) and Shameless (new series). I’m also moving into my new flat tomorrow, so the console will go back into the box!
Oh well, at least I have something to look forward to opening .. again.
Due to the manufacture date of my console I should have the new 65nm ‘falcon’ chip installed. The guy in the shop seemed non-to-happy that I actually asked if it had the newer CPU.
IF Guild Wars II

The second game in the Guild Wars series.
This one hasn’t gone so well! .. I joined another guild, ‘The Alchemists’, in hopes of at least completing the game alive. Ha, how wrong that was. EA, our so called ‘leader’ that everyone tried to mutiny against got us all drowned!
.. The fool!
*Tony stabs EA*
Ah well, roll on the third game.
IF Guild Wars (2).

An update on the guild wars at IFS. Well, what can I say, apart from the ‘Teh Penguins’ guild are no longer with us, three of them where eliminated by SG; and two by me.
Grrr, I’m currently capturing there castle, so now I’ll have two like everyone else.
The ‘Staff Killers’ guild lost a member to a meteor, da_man got angry with her.
The ‘Knights’ guild are capturing one of the ‘Power Rangers’ guild castles, so they will now have three.
The SG guild has vanished from existence, quicker than they came. Which is good.
As a new surprise we where given orbs outside of our castle, which give us certain items depending on which colour we choose. I have two, but one seems to have disappeared.
Don’t think there is much else to say at the moment, but the game is getting a bit drawn out since da_man is working late a lot. We’re now back to one square moves instead of two, which is rubbish since we get no-where.
I’ll update when I need to.
IF Guild Wars.

I’m being sociable …
The InvisionFree Support Forums are having a ‘guild wars’, where teams (or guilds) of 5 members battle against each other like in a role playing guild game thingy. It never got off to a great start, what with the creator deciding he didn’t know what he was doing, but when he figured it out we began.
I have to say it’s a decent game to be part of and play, well apart from the total lack of teamwork from the rest of my guild.
The game’s on a little break at the moment, with daman_2006 working. (He’s the creator by the way). Hopefully we can get going again, and destroy the new SG guild out to destroy all of us before we get chance to destroy each other.
Apart from a CSS Trivia, this is the only game I’ve ever played at IF .. let it be the first of many.
I’ll update this entry with any fresh news, save starting six for one subject.
Update: (18-03-07)
The game is under-way again, and quite a bit has changed. I am now the leader of my guild, woo; two of the guilds now have two castles!
greedy buggers; the SG guild has killed there first victim; I was almost killed!!
we also lost one of our comrades to a super-spider; and I’m now going after the Power Rangers (The IF Staff Team), can see me being banned soon.
I’ll be killing them and stealing one of the castles, everyone seems to scared to do anything to them, pfftt.
I’ll be destroying them and hopefully everyone else.
