ZetaBoards Anniversary

Date: Monday, November 24th 2008. Comments: 0 (View Entry)

For the past couple of days, and for the next couple of weeks, InvisionFree/ZetaBoards Support are celebrating their 6th and 1st year anniversaries respectively.

There have been several games created to mark the celebrations, and more will be created at a later date, for the community to take part in.

Once again, Guild War is back and once again I’ve set up a guild to participate. There is also the ever popular Deal With The Devil, which I have never took part in before, so should be great fun. ^_^

There is also a trivia contest, but I’m never any good at them so most likely won’t find the answers anywhere.

The next couple of weeks will likely be a relaxing, yet stressful time. It’s all fun! :D

InvisionFree Support Goes Weird

Date: Thursday, October 30th 2008. Comments: 0 (View Entry)

The InvisionFree Support forums had been down for most of yesterday due to an issue with server 1. Having come back on-line some time ago, and me just loading it a few moments ago, It’s acting all weird.

Making a reply to a topic sends that new post off up the top where it looks oddly out of place, as it doesn’t fit with the discussion. I don’t know if this is due to the hardware issue or has arisen from some other issue, but it’s slightly annoying to say the least.

I’ve also noticed that topics aren’t being marked as read after reading them. This isn’t exactly a problem but I do often forget where I’ve been and end up reading the same topics twice.

There hasn’t been any notices posted on this yet, so the staff may either not know or are working on it. If they knew about it a notice would have been created stating as such, so we’ll have to see . . .

I’ll update this later tonight (sleep time now) and see if every thing’s sorted. :umm:

Update: Everything looks back to normal now. :)

Pirate Day.

Date: Friday, September 19th 2008. Comments: 0 (View Entry)

Ahoy maties.

I’ve missed out on this day due to being at work, so haven’t talked like a pirate yet. I dare say I won’t for the rest of the night either, unless it’s over messenger.

I will be taking part in a community game over at InvisionFree though, a murder mystery. :O

Somebody has killed the ships captain and we need to find out who, by solving the clues left behind. I’m just waiting for the second one now to get started. I thought I would of missed the game with work and such, but it’s only just started really.

Dare say I’ll be slow at finding out who done the evil deed, but we can try.

I’ll update this entry as the game goes on. Ooooh, it’s one of those live type-as-you-do-it bloggies, :O yay!

Updates: I found the first clue, and headed off and discovered the second clue; now I have no idea on how to work it out to get the third clue. I hate these trivia type games. :(

I can’t post any of the answers yet in case someone did happen to read this entry. I wants to win!

Updates 2: Well after a very long and stressful time I have PMed my answers in. I stumbled across all of the clues, especially the last one, and realised what suspicions I had where correct sort of wrong. This was a very fun trivia to be a part of, certainly can’t wait for more. I will, however, only be playing them on my desktop from now on, as the laptop got seriously annoying trying to navigate through a large collection of tabs while jumping about everywhere. :(

I’m eagerly awaiting the results of my detective skill, and hopefully I have managed to guess correctly and won.

I’ll post back later with news.

Updates 3: Hmm, I never managed to win the game after all the effort and lack of sleep put in. I managed to find and decipher the clues, but couldn’t find the blog I needed to get the last murderer. That would of meant reading through all of them and at 4:58am it’s not something I really wanted to do.

As it was my first ever on-line trivia game I can’t say I was bad at it, jut wayyyyy to tired. I can’t wait for more, not sure if the IF Trivia will make a come back or not. :umm:

ZetaEgg™

Date: Wednesday, September 03rd 2008. Comments: 1 (View Entry)

Well a new community game has been created over at ZetaBoards Support IF Support.

ZetaEgg™ is a game of “look after this egg and see what happens”.

It’s actually really good. I have me a little Peachikins*’, who you can see grow here:

Peachikins

Peachikins, Yay!

There isn’t any insight into what will hatch from the eggs yet, maybe a scary monster; or a chicken! :o

We have to play with; feed; stroke; make happy; whatever, our eggs to keep their HP up. So it’s a daily interactive game.

If you use ZB or IF, or even if you don’t, get over to the topic and collect your eggy.

*’ If Peach sees this she’ll kill me. :(

ZetaBoards released.

Date: Thursday, December 06th 2007. Comments: 0 (View Entry)

Having just read the topic and realised I haven’t blogged in a little while I decided to kick things back into action with an entry about the release of ZetaBoards.

That’s right, it has finally arrived. :O After so many years of waiting, and so much speculation, the team at InvisionFree have rolled out their superb new bulletin board software.

You can read the official announcement to, well, not exactly find out more but yea, just read it. :P

I now have to decide whether or not to upgrade the development board as well as the main board. Not that it matters, I have IP.Board. As stated on the website I will be continuing skin creation for InvisionFree, as it’s still possible to register boards. This does now mean I need to sit down and learn to skin ZetaBoards, which I don’t have the time to do right now, so theme releases won’t be happening until next year. :right:

I still have the IF-Enhanced skin to finish, and I now need to update it to Zeta. :( Oh well, get yourselves over there and register a board

IF Guild Wars II

Date: Thursday, July 19th 2007. Comments: 0 (View Entry)

The second game in the Guild Wars series.

This one hasn’t gone so well! .. I joined another guild, ‘The Alchemists’, in hopes of at least completing the game alive. Ha, how wrong that was. EA, our so called ‘leader’ that everyone tried to mutiny against got us all drowned! :o .. The fool!

*Tony stabs EA*

Ah well, roll on the third game.

IF Guild Wars (2).

Date: Tuesday, March 27th 2007. Comments: 0 (View Entry)

An update on the guild wars at IFS. Well, what can I say, apart from the ‘Teh Penguins’ guild are no longer with us, three of them where eliminated by SG; and two by me. :O

Grrr, I’m currently capturing there castle, so now I’ll have two like everyone else.

The ‘Staff Killers’ guild lost a member to a meteor, da_man got angry with her. :shifty:

The ‘Knights’ guild are capturing one of the ‘Power Rangers’ guild castles, so they will now have three.

The SG guild has vanished from existence, quicker than they came. Which is good.

As a new surprise we where given orbs outside of our castle, which give us certain items depending on which colour we choose. I have two, but one seems to have disappeared. :umm:

Don’t think there is much else to say at the moment, but the game is getting a bit drawn out since da_man is working late a lot. We’re now back to one square moves instead of two, which is rubbish since we get no-where.

I’ll update when I need to. ^_^

IF Guild Wars.

Date: Wednesday, March 07th 2007. Comments: 0 (View Entry)

:O I’m being sociable …

The InvisionFree Support Forums are having a ‘guild wars’, where teams (or guilds) of 5 members battle against each other like in a role playing guild game thingy. It never got off to a great start, what with the creator deciding he didn’t know what he was doing, but when he figured it out we began.

I have to say it’s a decent game to be part of and play, well apart from the total lack of teamwork from the rest of my guild. :right:

The game’s on a little break at the moment, with daman_2006 working. (He’s the creator by the way). Hopefully we can get going again, and destroy the new SG guild out to destroy all of us before we get chance to destroy each other.

Apart from a CSS Trivia, this is the only game I’ve ever played at IF .. let it be the first of many. ^_^

I’ll update this entry with any fresh news, save starting six for one subject.

Update: (18-03-07)

The game is under-way again, and quite a bit has changed. I am now the leader of my guild, woo; two of the guilds now have two castles! :O greedy buggers; the SG guild has killed there first victim; I was almost killed!! we also lost one of our comrades to a super-spider; and I’m now going after the Power Rangers (The IF Staff Team), can see me being banned soon. :hmm:

I’ll be killing them and stealing one of the castles, everyone seems to scared to do anything to them, pfftt. :right: I’ll be destroying them and hopefully everyone else.

ZetaBoards.

Date: Tuesday, February 27th 2007. Comments: 0 (View Entry)

Since I have numerous references to this “ZetaBoards” I have decided to create an entry on it.

For those without a clue as to what it is, ZetaBoards is a free bulletin board software owned by Zathyus Networks. They allow users of the web to create a community on a reliable and secure forum system created with php, without the hassle of downloading; installing; maintaining; and upgrading that comes with software such as IP.Board.

Although ZetaBoards is still officially in the Beta stages, it is being produced to replace the current InvisionFree service also offered by Zathyus Networks. This service is a direct copy of IPB v1.3, which was available for free some time ago.

The ZetaBoards software allows a brand new system to come into play out on the web, as well as allowing the current IF users and staff alike to move away from IPS services altogether. The software is great for those with no experience, or who simply wish for the work to be done for them without worry.

I am not sure on the final release dates for the software, or even when it moves out of Beta, but hopefully it will be soon. Check out the beta board and see what you think. ZetaBoards has since been released and has seen several upgrades over the past year.
